Red Ribbon Week

RED RIBBON WEEK

Why do we have Red Ribbon Week?

Red Ribbon Week honors the life of Drug Enforcement Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camerena, who was killed by drug dealers in 1985. Kiki was working undercover to eradicate our communities of drugs and those who profit from them. The family and friends of Kiki wore red ribbons after their loss, and hence Red Ribbon Week was named. Red Ribbon Week this year is from 10/21/16-10/29/16.

With Red Ribbon Week focusing on ridding our society of illegal drug use, we will have two LEAD lesson days

RMS will also have a spirit week next week 10/17-10/21 to start off the celebration.

Monday 10/17: Pajama Day "Your choices are the key to your dreams!"

Tuesday 10/18: Red Day "I'm proud to be drug free!"

*See how much red you can wear from head to toe!

Wednesday 10/19: Superhero Day "Save the day from drugs!"

Thursday 10/20: Twin Day "Pair up against drugs!"

Friday 10/21: Sports Day "Team up against drugs!"
